SIL vacancies in Melbourne.

Shared and individual Supported Independent Living across south-east Melbourne. Multilingual team, matched on cultural fit.

What it is

SIL vacancies in the InLife network.

Looking for a Supported Independent Living arrangement in Melbourne or the south-east corridor? InLife runs SIL homes across Berwick, Clyde North, Cranbourne, Pakenham and the broader south-east, with additional capacity in our Geelong and Gold Coast operating footprint.

Our SIL model is built around small, dedicated teams per property, with language and cultural matching prioritised in housemate selection. For participants whose first language is Farsi, Urdu, Hindi or Punjabi, this usually solves a problem the wider SIL market has never really tackled.

What's included

How the matching works

Housemate fit before anything else.

Most SIL placements fail because housemates aren't compatible — different routines, different noise tolerance, different communication needs, different goals. We take time on the match: meet-and-greet visits, trial overnight stays, and honest conversations about whether the fit is right before any service agreement is signed.

Culture and language carry significant weight in our matching process. A Persian or Afghan family looking at SIL for their loved one should not have to settle for a house where no-one speaks Farsi. That's the baseline we work to.

Who this is for

Participants, families and support coordinators.

Participants with higher or complex support needs who want to live as independently as possible — whether transitioning from the family home, moving out of a group home or residential facility, or moving from interstate.

Support coordinators: we respond to SIL referrals within 48 hours, prepare SIL quotes collaboratively, and maintain open communication with families and participants through the pre-move, transition and ongoing phases. No surprises.
